Spring Season...More like Winter

Our spring season has been going very well. Although we have not been enjoying the brutal weather Plattsburgh has sent our way, we have endured the climate. The team chemistry level has risen since the season with all of the fundraising, practices, and events we have attended as a team. Relay for Life was an important fundraiser we do every year. We were inspired as we listened to a young girl tell her story about battling cancer at the age of six. Working the dunk tank, we were able to have the pleasure of sinking Macee Maddock and Heather Marko into the water after many attempts of throwing the softball. Safe to say there is a reason we play soccer with the ball at our feet. We participated in Zumba, although we aren't the best dancers in the world, took pictures in the group booth, and walked to help save lives. The many people that showed up to support the cause was inspiring.

We also had the Plattsburgh Half-Marathon this past weekend in which many of our teammates participated. We took the time to make t-shirts with “Running with Angels” on the front and our angel on the back. Maddie Rattray was the only one who endured the entire 13.1 miles while the rest of us ran the relay. YAY MADDIE! Those who didn't run were on the sideline at the 4.2 mile mark handing out water and Gatorade while cheering everyone on at 8:00 in the morning. After that we all had the pleasure of looking forward to practice later in the day. You could say our muscles were pretty tight Monday morning but it was well worth it.

This Sunday we are looking forward to our only allowed game of the spring season. We will be able to show off what hard work we have been putting into practices and lifting. Hopefully the weather will allow us to finally be comfortable in just shorts and jerseys but who knows, Global Warming at its finest.

This is our field at the end of march, still pretty surrounded by snow but thankfully by this time the snow is gone not that is feels like it much.
